GRINDELDORE FTW

If you haven't finished the 7th Potter book by now, it's your own damn fault.

J.K. Rowling has been releasing tidbits of information about the characters that never made it into the books, now that they're finished.

According to this article.....

DUMBLEDORE WAS GAY. AND IN LOVE WITH GRINDELWALD. I AM SO HAPPY. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. OMG. REMEMBER IN JULY, WHEN I LOVED IT?

Fandom freakout is here.

Enjoy beautimous fanart!

Hotchi.

Though, admittedly, not a Grindeldore fangirl myself, I like that she had the guts to give her characters normal identities just like people have in the real world. I'm sure uber-Christian Potter-haters will be even more up-in-arms. lol. I like that.

I'm not as elated as I wnat to be... I'm all gayified and I didn't pick up on the whole Dumbledore-Grindelwald thing... it would have been way better if she had made that whole dynamic more clear in the book for two reasons: 1. one of the (only) things I DON'T like about the HP books is that there AREN'T ANY out gay characters! It feels kind of lame to reveal that one of the most beloved characters was in fact gay via an interview after the fact, instead of within the stories themselves

2. Having that dynamic present in the book would have made Dumbledore's screwups related to Grindelwald make a LOT more sense if he was doing it out of love instead of weird ambition/competition that he never indicates in his personality otherwise.

G: Both your points make sense, and I do concede that I would respect Rowling's gumption a lot more if she would have just put it in the books to begin with.
