An Entire Post Devoted to Television

OMG, Studio 60 premiered last night and I forgot to mention it, but it was really good! You should watch it. It does kinda bother me that the entire premise/some characters are copied exactly from Aaron Sorkin's (producer/writer/creator/same of all that for The West Wing) life, but oh well. It was badass.
I'm really excited about Battlestar Galactica again because there was A MARATHON on today on the SciFi Channel. Chad only lasted through part of an episode, but Louise and I got through 3 (plus I caught up on webisodes during commercials!) before eating chili. Also....MY FREE COMPLETE SET OF SEASON 1 CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY!! Holy shit, so excited! Is it October 6th yet?! Madison friends: We should totally watch the mini-series together. Or maybe the entire 1st season. It's 13 episodes. We could do it somehow.
Speaking of TV.....Grey's Anatomy and The Office appear this Thursday! I can't go to SciFi Club....I must watch them live! Too bad The Office appears during the second half of the hour-long 2-season recap of Grey's. Oh well, it's not like I haven't memorized every detail ever, XD
Why is television so good?! Holy crap. And if my mother could read all of that, I know exactly what she would say: "Are you studying at school?! Do you do homework?!" Two words: stress relief.

But yes. Speaking of BSG...RYAN, CLICK HERE. Sadly, there will be no Frak Party within 50 miles of this zip code, which I find sad. I guess that, come October 6th, I'll have to take over the living room with my laptop so that I can watch and freak out via LiveJournal during every commercial break.

I guess anime still counts as television, but oh well. I recently found all of the Revolutionary Girl Utena manga at Half Price Books and have been reading it, as well as listening to the soundtrack as it slowly download's at a snail's pace. And reliving stuff from the anime, I think it's safe to say that the series is probably my favorite of all time. Key word being probably - it's hard to have an absolute favorite against everything else, especially considering how good other anime series are, such as Honey & Clover, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, and Fullmetal Alchemist. I would have to rewatch it in its entirety, but I do feel that it's definitely one of those series that gets better every time you see it, and one in which you would notice and appreciate new things every time.
Maybe one day I'll write more about how the concept itself is attractive to me. Here is a girl who, when rescued by a prince at a young age, becomes not some pining wench who lolls around all day waiting for the prince to return as happens in every other fairy tale, but a girl who, due to the affect he had on her, vows to become a prince herself. And that's what Utena becomes - quite possibly the most chivalrous character I've ever encountered, while still being painfully human through her naivety and willingness to trust everyone she crosses paths with.

That's too bad...SciFi Club's just not the same without you there to enforce order. :)

I am after all completely ineffective in that regard. You're much better at it.

Louise: Hopefully it won't happen too often - it's just that I can't watch THE PREMIERES late. The season finales were so good and I need to know what happens AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. However, I do intend to come to some Sci-Fi Clubs, homework permitting, :)

Ryan: I KNOW, wtf!

See, they can't reveal him being a Cylon, because nothing that significant can happen in the webisodes....
I totally think he's going to take his anger out on the Resistance, though. Maybe he'll become weird kind of Cylon-sympathizer?!
