Weekend, Anime, Lyrics, I'm really cold right now!

Blogging when I'm tired is usually a bad idea, so let's just hope I don't screw up my life by doing so.

Firstly, I wanted to pimp a link for Ice, the new comic by Faith Hicks (author/artist of Demonology 101), because it's really good. I sat down and read it all in one sitting. The only downside is that it's not finished yet.

My parents were Up North all weekend. Upon their return, I gave Dad my Father's Day contribution, which was an army survival guide. It teaches you how to construct beds when in a swamp, how to skin animals, and how to make various weapons including, but not limited to: bolas, hammers, and knives. Needless to say, James was pleased, despite claiming that he already knew how to do everything in the book.

There were 2 games of Risk played this weekend, and while I did not win either of them, they were still fun. Ryan and I also went to Taize prayer at the St. Norbert Abbey tonight, which was very nice. The sun was just hitting the huge stained glass mural on the western side of the building, too, so that was very beautiful. Singing in Latin is badass.

I don't understand how I can feel so tired when I didn't do anything all day.

I also don't understand how I could have filled my weekend with so much anime, reading, and being-with-people, and still fill with dread at the prospect of returning to work. But this week shouldn't be too bad....hopefully.

Randomly: Gankutsuou is fricking brilliant (have seen the first 4 episodes, and fully intend to watch more. And to rewatch the entire series after reading The Count of Monte Cristo, which was given to me by Kristy), Monster has really been letting Ryan and I down (it's dragging! And it was so GOOD to begin with! It damn well better pick up soon!), and I'm loving Revolutionary Girl Utena. I started typing up this...thing as a preview-type thing for RGU that I'd like to do for all of the things I've been watching/reading this summer. Think of it as a series called "Jackie Recommends...." I'm going to add pictures, though, so it'll be a little while 'til I put it up (which means that because I said that, it'll end up being tomorrow). And I WILL post pictures in response to the comments left on my previous post. When I'm not ready to die from exhaustion, like I am now. x_x

Current Music: Tribute - Tenacious D (BEST SONG EVER. In fact, you will now read the lyrics. DO IT. I have bolded my favorite parts.)

A long time ago
Me and my brother Kyle, here...
Well, we was hitchhiking down
A long and lonesome road (eagle cry)

And all of a sudden
There shined a shiny demon
In the middle of the road

And he said:
"Play the best song in the world
Or I'll eat your soul" (Soul)

Well, me and Kyle
We looked at each other
And we each said:
"Okay."

And we played the first thing that came to our heads
Just so happened to be
The BEST song in the world
It was the best song in the world... Oh... Yeah!
And it saved our butts.

Because the demon want to kill us... oh...
But he was forced to set us free
By the honor code that demons
Have to live by.

Cause it's Satan's Surprise and it's magic!
And it's a mystical disguise... oh..
The devil's song and it's tragic!
You are the mystical-eyed virgin and you're rocking!

Well needless to say,
The beast was stunned.
A whip crack with his swumpy tail
And the beast was done.

He asked us:
"Be you angels?"
And we said:
"NAY! We are but men! Rock
HOUNDS!"
Hounds! Rock Hounds!

This is not
The greatest song in the world, no.
This is just a tribute!
Couldn't remember
The greatest song in the world
But this is a tribute!

To the greatest song in the world
It was the greatest song in the world
You know it was the best motherfuckn
It was the greatest song in the world

And the peculiar thing is this, my friends:
The sound we played on that fateful night
It didn't actually sound anything like this song
This is just a tribute.
You've gotta believe it.
And I wish you were there.
It's just a matter of opinion

Your present to your dad sounds like it would be funny to read.

Also, in response to your last post about requesting pictures... how about a picture of the infamous fire poker.
