Things I Must Say

Glee
First of all....I have finally posted my huge post containing all of my Harry Potter notes for books 5 and 6! I put it at LiveJournal because 1) it contains MASSIVE spoilers for both books, so don't read it unless you've already read them! and 2) it's hella long. Because that's how nerdy awesome I am.

Also, I have updated Ghost Hunters again. I've been waiting to get to this part for a while, so I decided to just do it, so that I'd be excited about writing again. This part didn't turn out as cool as I wanted it to, but I guess that's what the revision process is for. Anyway, for now, there is action! Even a gun! :O

I saw the Casino Royale movie tonight with Dave, Jennifer, and Ryan. It was badass. Eva Green and Daniel Craig were both awesome, which makes me excited for the theatrical release of The Golden Compass, because they're both going to be in it.

Next, a discussion of the image on a shirt that a customer recently came through my line at work and purchased. For reference, here is my own rendition of the image on the shirt-front:

So, let's review here. First off, the girl is easily distinguishable both by the bow in her hair and her skirt. Also, the "problem" that is the subject of the t-shirt is her act of voicing thoughts, an act associated with intelligence. The female is expressing herself. And how is this "problem" "solved?" Ah! Pushing the offending expressive female off a cliff into oblivion. A violent end to a most offensive act.
Worst of all? The customer was a middle-aged woman paying for clothing for her son. SERIOUSLY?! I was disgusted. What the hell is the matter with society?

Anyway, I need to get to sleep. Tomorrow, I drive to Madison, and I'm SO excited to see Antoine. :) Okay, sleep now.

I'm worried about the Golden Compass movie, I heard they're going to try to take all religious undertones and references out of it, which would basically negate the whole point of the books...

And that tshirt is stupid. So is that mom.

And Casino Royale is an awesome film.

Yeah, I heard that about the Golden Compass, too. Still, if I can see armored bears and Pantalaimon, I'll be happy. I'll probably watch it the same way I watch Harry Potter movies - not because I'll like it by itself, but because I just want to see how they'll do some of the fantastical elements.

For some reason my blogger account isn't working. t3h h3ll. (Steph)

Oddly enough that t-shirt is the exact example we used during house fellow training for what a lot of people think is okay but is really not. They only think it's ok because they're stupid.

People are going to think I'm crazy when I have children, because I'm going to insist that they not force my sons to wear blue and my daughters to wear pink. I know, color coding kids doesn't seem like a big deal, but the public is going to be all "but Steph, it's tradition, why are you obsessing over me buying only pink for your daughter? It makes her look cute." And I'll be like "No, Bitches. My daughter is cool that way. She looks good in all colors and you will not subjugate her with your gender stereotypes." I'm going to encourage my kids to pursue activities associated with the other gender, because I think people doing what they want is more important than people sticking to the norm. Colors are rather minute in the grand scheme of things but you have to choose your battles and start small.
