It's Angst or Geekiness. I went with squeeing fangirl, and I know you all thank me for it.

Our school has now had its first case of mumps somewhere on campus. GREAT.

Most Effed-Up Rumor Ever:
Okay, picture this: an English, live-action Sailor Moon movie.
Starring Lindsay Lohan.
Written by Joss Whedon.
I'm not making this shit up, but I pray to God that someone is.

So, Advent Children came out yesterday and it is sitting above my desk, allowing me to bask in its glorious rays. It's still #1 at Amazon.com (Also, check out #2 - that's right, West Wing season 6!) I don't have time to watch it, really, but I sneaked a little peek at the English dub, and it seems good. I also watched enough of the ending to make myself cry again (SO GOOD!). My summer plans now include watching this movie in English and Japanese many times, as well as its special features, and possibly writing fanfiction. And trying to get it on popular FF7 fansites. Because that's what the cool kids do, ;)

The fifth volume of Runaways also came in the mail, so now I get to reread that as soon as summer's here, too. Or at least when these papers are done.

We watched Howl's Moving Castle last night in the little anime club I run here in the dorm. It is now one of my favorite movies. The English dub is actually good - credits include Billy Crystal, Lauren Bacall, and Christian Bale. WATCH IT.

"But Jackie," you ask, "How are your papers going?!"
And I answer, "Well, Susie, my English paper just crossed the threshold of page 4. It is supposed to be 7-10 pages long. I meet with people to do a peer-edit tonight and am praying to God that I walk away with ideas of how to make it longer. I also hope to avoid previous issues that made my paper worthy of nothing higher than average. Maybe when my peers read it, they'll actually tell me if they notice anything."
"Well," you say, "That's all right. You've got until Monday and things will turn out all right. How about your Presidency paper? That one's supposed to be ten pages, right?"
"I have gathered sources. 13 books, in fact, about both presidents and the approach--"
"Yes, but how many pages do you have written? I heard Chad has at least 4--"
"Susie, some things have to wait until after the English presentation I have on Thursday. Don't worry, though. I'm giving up watching 'Blade Runner' with the SciFi club on Thursday night so I can turn out a draft for Friday. Yes, that's right; a ten-page draft in one night."
"Do you really think writing this in dialogue is going to draw people in?"
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Sorry, I had to delete the first comment because I didn't use the 'return' key and ended up royally annihilating your layout, Jackie. I guess there's no text wrap for never-ending words, but was cool looking.

I would like to see an english sailor moon, so long as the only thing they change is the language and they make it exactly like the anime or manga (I didn't like everything they did with Pretty Guardian). I have only a few conditions for the production of this film: I must be in it and all of the other characters must also be able to act (which seems to be a problem with Japan-inspired English spin-offs or anything aimed at little girls, really).

I want to see Howl's Moving Castle and Advent Children!

I like to see blog entries in dialog form.
